Community Service Not

Most of the resumes international applicants bring to Athena Mentor have a gaping hole in the category of community service. It’s just not there!

Non-US applicants find it hard to believe how seriously Americans take community service. Often, the very idea comes as a surprise. I live in Germany, and the traditional form of a German resume (Lebenslauf) is a straightforward list of employment, internships and education. This mirrors what German employers find relevant.

We’ll talk more about this. In the meantime, I suggest you look into opportunities to put your skills to work on behalf of someone else–today!
